City of Zadar and Zadar County are famous for their natural beauty and rich historical heritage. This remarkable city situated on Dalmatian coast on eastern part of Adriatic sea. Zadar is a city with long history, dating 3000 years ago. A plain walk through the city will show times dating back to Romans and Middle Ages.

Visit the oldest gothic church in Dalmatia, built in 1221: The church and Monastery of St Francis. Even older is St. Donat’s church which dates back to 9th century.

Zadar is also an art destination of sorts, and is well known for two of Europe’s most unique art installations: the Sea Organ and the Sun Salutation.

While city of Zadar offers a rich historical heritage and fascinating old buildings, its surroundings offer even more. Close to Zadar are several Croatian national parks:
